Rina Sawayama is a y2k-inspired hyper pop artist that explores a lot of heavy themes in her music (generational trauma for example) while playing with different genre influences like nu-metal and 90s Japanese pop. I think she is a great artist and was for sure being replayed constantly when her album "Sawayama" was released in 2020. Gotta love Rina ♥
Hwasa is one of my favorite solo k-pop artists when she does work outside of Mamamoo. I think her voice is just wonderful and I adore the stuff that she sings about. She's also proven herself capable of being a standalone artist through writing her own songs (something I feel like is limited with some of the k-pop artists out there). I hope her company continues to give her opportunities to show her talent as a solo performer :)
Lil Mariko and Full Tac are an amazing musical duo delivering the best dom music I didn't know I needed. I recently just finished listening to Mariko's debut album & I can't tell you how many times I've been replaying "Shiny", "Catboys", and "I'm Baby" LOL. It's a lot of fun listening to the tunes they make together and being degraded/kink-shamed at the same time.
Clarence is a pretty cool dude! I'd say more, but I have to be honest: I haven't listened to a lot of his solo stuff. But, the stuff that I have heard is very innovative. Mans has been doing this for years now even before Hyperpop has risen to the prominence it's at now - and I think that's pretty amazing. Especially since his older stuff sounds so new! So yea, he deserves a spot here.
WHY AM I SO LATE ON GETTING INTO DORIAN ELECTRAAAAAA. Oh my god, I love everything about Dorian's music and the aesthetics they play with. It's been giving me a lot of inspiration as an expressive queer kid! Their music has been placing worms in my brain just playing the same catchy tunes over and over. I am addicted & now I see what people were talking about
Bjooooooorrrrrrrkkkkkkk. Tbh, I don't know much about her. I do know that she is adored by lots of music lovers & I can totally see why! At least with her recent stuff, I really love the mystical out-of-this-world sounds she makes. Especially her Utopia album. I want to give myself time to sit and listen to it all, but "The Gate" and "Utopia" have been my favs so far. Especialllyyyyyyy "The Gate". I may or may not have teared up 😳
ALG is pretty amazing!! I've been love with all the songs she has released since I first found her discography in 2021. Her jams are so fun to listen to, give her a listen!
According to Google, Luna Aura's music is considered pop music. So I guess she's goin' under here LOL. Maybe it's just me, but she's going way too hard in these songs to just be pop. Oh well, genres very vague anyways. Anywho, Luna's music is pretty great! Her music makes me want to punch walls. Throw a chair! Crush da patriarchy! It's pretty addicting what I've listened to so far.
